How’d We Get Here?
The Pacers did it again, finding another level to their game in the playoffs to dispatch favored opponents time and time again. What looked like a season for the ages ended in tragic fashion as Tyrese Haliburton, postseason hero and franchise player, tore his Achilles in Game 7 of the Finals. It’s going to knock him out for all of 2025-26 and the Pacers will reset in a go-nowhere year without their superstar. Indiana wouldn’t commit a big contract to Myles Turner, who shockingly left the only team he had ever known to sign with division rival Milwaukee in a move that left the Pacers perilously thin at center. With Haliburton out and the longest-tenured player gone, the Pacers are looking at a mighty uphill climb this season. It’s a roster with some major question marks and while we have all learned not to doubt this group, Indiana might’ve stumbled upon a challenge that even they can’t conquer.
