2024-25 NBA Draft Guide: Second-Year Players

  • As we prepare for another exciting fantasy basketball season, it’s time to focus on second-year players who are set to make significant strides. After a promising rookie year, many of these young talents are ready for a sophomore leap. This season, expect several of them to elevate their game and become key contributors to their teams—and your fantasy rosters.

Several second-year players are on the brink of a breakout year due to changes in their teams’ dynamics. For some, this means increased usage because of new additions or departures in free agency. With a new teammate or an expanded role, these players have the chance to step up and showcase their growth. Conversely, some rookies might see their opportunities diminish as teams welcome back injured players or integrate high-profile draft picks.

Keep an eye on these second-year sensations as they navigate these changes. They could be the difference-makers you need to elevate your fantasy team!

To make things easier, I’ve categorized notable second-year players into two groups: those worth considering in standard-league drafts and those suited for deep leagues. Please note that the ‘Current ADP’ section for each player reflects data available at this time. However, since it’s still early in the season, these figures may not fully represent what you’ll see in September.
