Pace is a useful metric for Fantasy Basketball because it is the number of possessions a team uses in a game. More possessions should equate to more opportunities to collect stats. Last year, we decided to include offensive rating as a part of this article as a way of analyzing the efficiency of those possessions. Some teams may have a slow pace, but still be near the top of the league in offensive rating. The opposite is also true. There are a number of factors that affect the outcome of a team’s pace and offensive rating at the end of a season, but I am going to do my best with what we know right now to get an idea of which teams are likely to improve or decline in these metrics.
