How’d We Get Here?
The Thunder saw the fruits of their long rebuild, with a deep cast of young talent putting OKC at the top of the standings. They fell to the eventual Conference champs in the playoffs but it was a successful season overall. So, how do you follow that up? The Thunder used their cap space to sign perhaps the best center on the market. They traded a player that failed them in the postseason from a position of surplus in exchange for one of the most sought-after players on the trade market, one-for-one. Their foundational star looked like one of the best players at the Olympics. It doesn’t take a lot of moves to make an exciting summer, as long as you make the right ones.
