Game Total 219Key Storylines
The 9-cat Hawks – The Hawks have eight players (Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Clint Capela, Onyeka Okongwu, De’Andre Hunter and Saddiq Bey) that have given 12-team value on a per game basis for the entire season to this point. Granted, a lot of that shows the injury issues they have dealt with that have allowed so many of their players to obtain this value (Young and OO are still out, bee-tee-dubs). However, it also shows the depth of talent they have and shows how much of a disappointment they have been to have a losing record with such a talented roster. While there is a ton of talk surrounding the play of Johnson, who is obliterating his late-round ADP, it is important to highlight the production of Bogdanovic as he also was drafted late and is giving value well beyond that.
Nets are still alive! – It is so crazy to think that the Nets are still alive but they can move to within two games of the Hawks and the tenth seed with a win in this game. The Nets have struggled all year and only won four games in the month of February, but here we are. The expanded playoff format is doing what it was designed to do. Instead of wondering if the Nets or Hawks will shut down their players, we can be assured that they will not as they still have a chance at postseason play.
