LaMelo Ball, a lock to land in the lottery and potentially the first overall selection in the 2020 NBA draft, has officially placed his name in the draft pool. Ball had been playing overseas for teams in multiple countries, with the most recent being in Australia for the Illawara Hawks of the NBL (a franchise he recently purchased).

LaMelo, a point guard, has long been known to be entering his name in this year's draft, the first one he is eligible for. His stock has skyrocketed over the last year and he currently projects as a top three selection on almost all draft boards. The NBA draft lottery has not yet occurred, so the exact order that NBA teams will be selecting in is not known. The Warriors currently have the worst record at 15-50, so their odds to land the top overall pick would be the greatest if the season is not resumed. The Cavs and T-Wolves also have fewer than 20 wins. Ball has physically grown quite a bit over the past couple years as well, currently sitting at 6-foot-7 and 180 pounds. The NBA draft lottery, currently scheduled for May 19th, will give us a better indication of where LaMelo will be playing next season.
