The Hawks have officially acquired free agent forward via sign-and-trade from the Thunder, according to a team press release.
The Thunder acquired a conditional 2025 second-round draft selection in addition to receiving a sizable trade exception of $19.5M, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks. The Hawks, who's agreement with Gallinari is worth $61.5M over three seasons, also received cash considerations from the Thunder. They "wanted to add productive veterans and high-level shooting to our group and [Gallinari] provides both," as Hawks GM Travis Schlenk expressed his excitement bringing Gallinari into the fold. In 2019-20 with the Thunder, Gallinari had a nice season, averaging 29.6 minutes per night – staying healthy for the most part. He posted 18.7 PPG, 5.2 RPG and a shooting line of .438/.405/.893 in 62 contests.
