Wendell Carter Jr.C, Chicago BullsWendell Carter Jr. (right ankle sprain) recently shared that his rehab has been progressing well and that he anticipates a return to the court on the early side of his initial 4-to-6 week timetable.
Carter was initially injured on January 6th, so an early return would mean he plays shortly before the All-Star Game weekend. When asked when he'd expect to return relative to his timetable, Carter responded, “Definitely closer to the four. My progress has been really good lately, so definitely closer to the four than the six.’’ This is an encouraging sign, but keep in mind players have an incentive to feel optimistic about their rehab and the Bulls could still choose to hold him out through the All-Star weekend given if it gives him a few extra days to heal. Carter was hovering around top 100 value on the season, but his upside warrants rostering, particularly in leagues with an IL spot.
