Ricky RubioPG, Oklahoma City ThunderThe Athletic's Jon Krawczynski is reporting that the Wolves are in talks to acquire Ricky Rubio and picks Nos. 25 and 28 in the draft for No. 17.
The Wolves have had No. 17 on the trade block since the draft order was set, so it's not surprising that they appear to be deep in discussions. A re-acquisition of Rubio definitely was not an expected outcome here, and it's not done yet, but it would give the Wolves a pass-first playmaker to complement their assembly of elite scorers. The Thunder have approximately a million draft picks over the next handful of seasons so it's no surprise that they're thinking of packaging some to move up in the draft. We'll see what comes of all this.
