Nick RichardsC, CollegeNick Richards, a 6-foot-11, 247-pound center out of the University of Kentucky (by way of Jamaica), has decided to enter his name into the 2020 NBA draft pool. In three seasons at Kentucky (105 games) under coach John Calipari, Richards averaged 7.3 PTS, 5.0 REB and 1.4 BLK in 18.2 minutes per game.
Richards had high expectations entering Kentucky as a freshman in 2017-18 and did not live up to the lofty predictions many had for him. His sophomore season was not impressive either, but he blossomed in 2019-20. Richards finished this season, which was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with per-game averages of 29.6 minutes, 14.0 points, 7.8 boards and 2.1 blocks in his third year with the Wildcats. He currently projects as a middle-to-late second round pick, as it seems likely some team will take a flyer on him.
