• Giannis Antetokounmpo
    PF, Milwaukee Bucks

Brian Windhorst of ESPN is reporting that the Mavs are widely expected to preserve their cap space for the 2021 offseason when Giannis Antetokounmpo becomes a free agent.

“They want to have a 3rd star," said Brian Windhorst on The Jump. “I wouldn't expect them to add any major free agents this year. They're going to wait." Giannis is eligible for a supermax extension this offseason with the Bucks, but it’s unclear whether he will sign it. Among the Mavs are the Miami Heat, who are also interested and clearing a path for them to sign Antetokounmpo in the 2021 offseason. The incumbent MVP has made comments suggesting that he’ll stay in Milwaukee, although no progress has been reported towards that extension.
