Jalen SmithPF, Phoenix SunsLottery pick Jalen Smith has inked his rookie contract with the Suns after being selected 10th overall in the 2020 draft, according to a Suns press release.
Smith, who attended Maryland and played two seasons for the Terrapins, will earn almost $19.5 million over the course of the four-year rookie scale deal. He's a versatile big man, finishing third in the country in double-doubles last season (15.5 PPG and 10.5 RPG) while also posting a .368 shooting clip on 3-pointers (87 attempts) as a sophomore. Smith will look to carve out a role coming off the bench at the power forward and center positions as a rookie for a Suns squad looking to make major strides in 2020-21.
