The Heat and Chris Silva are nearing an agreement to convert Silva's two-way contract into a new three-year deal.

The new contract, if signed before Wednesday, would bestow Silva with Bird rights and open up a new two-way slot for the Heat. Silva has earned the new deal with excellent block and rebound rates this season, but he's buried in the perennially deep Miami rotation. Keep him in the back of your mind.
