QB
Brock Purdy has defied all expectations so far and looked very comfortable last Sunday in a stomping over the Buccaneers. However, we can’t expect him to deliver a rushing score and put up 20-plus fantasy points on a regular basis. He’s a very risky low-end QB1 option this week, but we have to assume that his ceiling is what we saw this past weekend. He’s more likely to finish between 12-18 fantasy points on Thursday.
RB
What else can be said about one of the league’s most dynamic players. Christian McCaffrey is an absolute smash play with RB1 upside for the week given his heavy involvement in both the run and pass game. The absence of Eli Mitchell has allowed McCaffrey more opportunties and he should be even more involved over the next few weeks due to Deebo Samuel’s injury. Start McCaffrey with confidence against a Seahawks team has surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing RBs so far this season. Rookie Jordan Mason has been extremely efficient with his limited opportunities, boasting a 5.3 YPC on his 29 attempts. However, his lack of involvement in the passing game doesn’t bode confidence in 12-team leagues unless we see CMC go down to an injury.
