Tennessee Titans @ New Orleans Saints
Lions(+205) @ Chiefs(-250): O/U41.5
Titans +3.0 (-110), Saints +3.0(-110)This is matchup that pits what we think vs. what we know. Everyone thinks the Saints are the new shiny thing and everyone also thinks that the Titans are one the downturn. What we know is that Derrick Henry is a freight train and Mike Vrabel wins football games. Both teams are in the middle of a competitive re-model and it’s honestly impossible to tell what is going to stick and what is going to fall flat. The one thing that will never change is that the Titans love to pound the rock over and over again. It seems counter-intuitive to have a rush-first approach and boast one of the worse offensive lines in the league, but that’s where we are. The Titans are also elite at stopping the run, but the other side of that coin is they have a truly, horrendous secondary. Derrick Carr was brought in from the Raiders to shore up the QB position and if he is the same player who threw for over 4800 yards two seasons ago, then he could have a monster impact on Sunday. Ryan Tannehill is back under the center for the Titans while he isn’t the most diverse talent in the league, he is built to thrive in the Titans heavy play-action approach.
Main Storylines to Watch
Who Picks Up The Slack?: Alvin Kamara is suspended for the first three games and last season’s TD king Jamaal Williams will get all the touches he can handle. It’s going to be tough sledding banging into the Titans front seven, but Williams should be up to the task from a physical standpoint. The Titans brought in DeAndre Hopkins to add some stability to the WR room and with Treylon Burks healthy and ready to rock, the Titans aren’t so one-dimensional anymore. There is a lot of players on new teams in this game and everyone is trying to prove they can still perform at an elite level. I can’t wait to see who steps up.
Ola, Ola, Ola: Garrett Wilson gets all the hype in the sophomore WR class, but it’s Chris Olave whose ready to break out and join the upper echelon. He has a monstrous opportunity to unleash his full arsenal against this leaky secondary and should see plenty of targets and plenty of open field. If Michael Thomas is actually back, then that just sweetens the pot even more for Olave. He’s the player to watch and the player to bet on in this one. Congrats i you manage to draft him,
