NFL FantasyPass: Week 15 Sleepers

  • In fantasy football, there are oftentimes players that go overlooked heading into a week of games. Sleepers are left on benches every single week, but sometimes that “big game from out of nowhere” could have been easily predicted and utilized in starting lineups. In this piece, I’ll be tiering and listing some of the sleepers I’ve identified ahead of Week 15 of the 2023 fantasy football season. If they’re on your bench, feel comfortable playing them over a starter with a worse outlook for Week 15. There’s also a chance they could be on the waiver wire, so snatch them up if you’re in need of their services.

I’ll be looking at players rostered in at least 50% of ESPN leagues and tier them in descending order of their percentage started on fantasy teams. In other words: the further down the list, the deeper the sleeper for Week 15’s matchups. Tier One: Started in 25-50% of fantasy leagues

WR Courtland Sutton – Denver Broncos (88% rostered / 46% started)

What do you know, Courtland Sutton found his way to the end zone once again in Week 14, making that 10 of his 13 games with a receiving touchdown on the season. Sutton and the Broncos’ passing offense have really found their stride this season, with the 28-year-old wideout emerging as the alpha target for revitalized veteran QB Russell Wilson. Sutton should make easy work of the Detroit Lions’ secondary in Week 15, who have allowed the 10th-most PPR fantasy points to opposing wide receivers on the season. He’s scored 16 PPR fantasy points in four of his last five games and could be easily plugged into lineups ahead of the fantasy playoffs starting for most this week.

WR Rashee Rice – Kansas City Chiefs (78% rostered / 45% started)

Despite the Chiefs’ offensive struggles this season, rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice has really come into his own over the last few weeks of the season. Rice quickly turned heads to start the year, flashing many talents that the rest of the Chiefs’ receiving corps don’t possess. Unfortunately, Rice was never really able to put together a consistent fantasy-worthy role until he earned more targets and opportunities midway through the year. Thankfully, he’s there now, and over his last three performances, he’s reeled in 23-of-29 targets for 243 yards and two touchdowns in that span. Rice gets a date with the Patriots in Week 15, who have surrendered the 12th-most fantasy points to opposing wideouts on the year.

TE Isaiah Likely – Baltimore Ravens (50% rostered / 34% started)

Second-year TE Isaiah Likely has emerged with increased opportunities after the season-ending ankle injury suffered by Mark Andrews in Week 11. In his two starts since then, Likely has scored an average of 15 PPR fantasy points, including a performance of 5-of-7 for 83 yards and a touchdown vs. the Rams in Week 14. Now, Likely will look to continue his hot streak vs. the Jaguars in Week 15, who have been torched by opposing passing offenses in recent weeks. The Bengals allow the seventh-most PPR fantasy points to opposing tight ends on the season, and Likely should be in line to explode again for those in need of a tight end in the opening round of the 2023 fantasy football playoffs.
