Sonny Gray OVER 4.0 Pitcher Strikeouts

The Guardians do not strike out a lot, but that is why this number is so low for a pitcher of Sonny Gray’s caliber. Gray has the third lowest ERA of all qualified major league starters this year. His K/9 is at 8.9, which is average, but he still should be able to get the amount of work in today’s game that will give him a good chance to hit four strikeouts. He faced off against this same Guardians team in his last outing and struck out five batters.

Pete Alonso OVER 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score

The Mets will be in the nation’s capital to take on a familiar foe in Patrick Corbin. Pete Alonso has an extensive history against Corbin. In 18 games against each other, Alonso has a .326 batting average with five home runs and nine walks. Polar bear is coming off a two home run game and all of a sudden is in the race for most home runs this year. He sits three behind Matt Olson and Shohei Ohtani who are tied for first with 44.

Patrick Corbin OVER 6.0 Hits Allowed

The Mets’ offense has been coming alive of late and Patrick Corbin has the ninth worst ERA among qualified starters. Corbin has faced the Mets twice this year and in those games, he allowed six hits in one and eight hits in the other. Corbin allowed 26 hits over 28 innings in August, so despite keeping the runs down, the hits still piled up against one of the worst starters in the league.

Miles Mikolas OVER 6.0 Hits Allowed

The Braves return home after taking three of four from the Dodgers. They will be facing a Cardinals team that is starting 35-year-old Miles Mikolas. The Braves have the highest batting average against right-handed pitching this year and trail only the Rangers for total runs scored at home. In six August starts, Mikolas allowed six or more hits in five of them. The Braves’ offense was not running on all cylinders in Los Angeles, but they should be ready to fire away at Truist Park.

Charlie Blackmon UNDER 0.5 Total RBIs + RUNs

You are getting good value on Charlie Blackmon not scoring or knocking in a run, something he has not done very much of recently. He has only scored one run in the last nine games and has only had two games where he’s registered RBIs during that stretch. The Diamondbacks will be starting Brandon Pfaadt, the rookie who struggled mightily in his last start against the Dodgers. In the previous two starts, Pfaadt allowed only a combined four hits and he will be back at Chase Field tonight against a Rockies team that ranks in the bottom two for away runs scored.

Matt Olson OVER 1.5 Total HITs + RUNs

Matt Olson and the Braves should have a big night tonight against Miles Mikolas. Part of the reason the Braves are so good against right-handed pitching is because they have a left-hander that leads the league in home runs and RBIs. Olson has been crushing righties all season as he has hit 35 of his 44 home runs against righties. Olson had three hits against Mikolas earlier in the year when they faced off, all of them going for extra bases.
