Kenta Maeda OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts

Kenta Maeda takes on the Reds who rank 5th in total strikeouts on the season. They trail the 4th place Angels by only one strikeout so look for them to jump up a place after today’s game. Maeda has been pretty good since making his way back into this rotation with 104 Ks over 96 innings. He was excellent in his last start, lasting seven innings while striking out eight batters. Maeda eclipsed 100 pitches in that start, marking the first time he’s done so since returning from injury.

Yusei Kikuchi OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts

The Yankees have the second highest amount of strikeouts over the past 30 days. We’ve seen some starting pitchers make easy work of their limited lineup recently. Yusei Kikuchi did not have his best performance in his most recent start, which came against a desperate Rangers team. Before that, he hit this number in six straight starts.

Jackson Rutledge OVER 5.5 Hits Allowed

This will be just the 24-year-old’s second start of his career. His first start did not go according to plan as he allowed 10 hits and seven runs in only 3.2 innings. Davey Martinez will let Rutledge go as long as he can, which probably will result in a good amount of hits for the White Sox.

Spencer Strider OVER 4.0 Hits Allowed

Despite Spencer Strider’s gaudy strikeout numbers, he has been hit quite a bit this season. Over the past three games, Strider has allowed 14 total hits in 15.2 innings. His last start came against this same Phillies team and he was excellent, striking out nine over seven innings, but he still gave up four hits.
