Max Fried OVER 5.5 Pitcher Strikeouts
This marquee matchup between the top two teams in the NL East will be the third matchup in two days after a split doubleheader on Monday. Max Fried is rounding into playoff form himself and has gone at least six innings in all but two of his previous eight starts. The Phillies, for all their high-flying offensive ways lately, have struck out at an above-average rate over the past few weeks. They rank third in total strikeouts over the past 15 days. In Fried’s last five starts in Philadelphia, he has hit this number in all five.
Lance Lynn OVER 5.0 Hits Allowed
Lance Lynn started his Dodgers tenure looking really good, but since his first few starts, he has reverted back to the pitcher we saw in Chicago. He has a problem with the long ball and giving up too many hits. Over his past three appearances for the Dodgers, Lynn has allowed 24 hits. The Padres were built to beat this Dodgers team and they did that on Monday racking up 11 runs in the process.
Underdog Fantasy
Adley Rutschman OVER 0.5 Batter Walks
The young catcher is ninth among all players in walks drawn this season. The Orioles take on veteran righty Adam Wainwright tonight who has walked 10 batters in just his last four starts. Adam Wainwright has walked 36 batters this season while only striking out 49 in 89 innings.
Freddy Peralta OVER 6.5 Strikeouts
The Brewers’ pitching staff is one of the stories of the season and looks to be the most formidable rotation heading into October. Freddy Peralta is tied with Spencer Strider for most strikeouts since the All-Star break. In 10 games since then, both pitchers have struck out 84 batters. Brandon Woodruff had his turn on Monday and pitched a complete game shutout against this same Marlins team.
