Luis Medina OVER 5.0 Pitcher Strikeouts

Oakland was able to pull out a 2-1 victory against their counterparts across the Bay on Saturday. After getting crushed by the Dodgers in Los Angeles in the series prior, the A’s made a respectable showing of themselves at home. That could continue on Sunday with Luis Medina on the mound. Medina was excellent in July for the A’s with a 2.86 ERA. In all four of his July starts, Medina had more than five strikeouts. Medina averages 87 pitches per start so he will at least have the longevity to get close to this number against a team in the Giants that rank third in total strikeouts on the season.

Lance Lynn OVER 5.0 Hits Allowed

Lance Lynn was good in his first start for the Dodgers, but that came against the last place Oakland A’s at Dodger Stadium. Things could go differently in San Diego for Lynn, who has the worst ERA and has given up the fifth most amount of hits among all qualified starters. Even in that game against Oakland, Lynn gave up five hits. He’s allowed five or more hits in his last four starts.

    Chase Silseth OVER 5.0 Strikeouts

Silseth looked excellent in his last two starts and this matchup pits him against a team that strikes out a lot. In his last two starts, he registered a combined 14 strikeouts. His pitch count and Phil Nevin letting him go late into the game is the only thing that would scare me, but even so, he should be able to hit this number. The Mariners rank second in total strikeouts over the past month and have three players who rank in the top 10 when it comes to total strikeouts on the season.

    Bryce Miller OVER 5.0 Strikeouts

The Mariners strike out a lot, but so do the Angels. The Angels rank fourth in total strikeouts over the past month and Bryce Miller has been carrying a decent pitch count into his starts. Even though he has been giving up runs, Miller has still gone over 90 pitches in his last two games. Miller hasn’t been as good as he was to start his rookie campaign, but the matchup should put him over the edge.

Freddie Freeman OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Freddie Freeman has been on a ridiculous pace. He hit .359 in July and is hitting .500 so far in August. Freeman has 82 total bases since the start of July and 21 XBH. Former Dodger, Rich Hill, takes the mound for the Padres and despite his impressive career, he was hittable with the Pirates this season. His July ERA  was 5.70.

Juan Soto OVER 1.5 Total Hits + Runs

Soto is currently on an eight game hitting streak and has started to put together a vintage Juan Soto season, after a slow start by his standards. Over the last eight games, Soto has 15 total hits with 10 RBIs and four home runs. All four home runs came in August with one coming in the first game of this series. He has scored a run in five straight games.
