• For DFS players, the Braves at Coors Field is the number one matchup to target on the board tonight. The run total in that game is sitting at 12. The second highest run total on the board belongs to the Astros-Red Rox game with J.P. France on the mound for the visiting Astros and Brayan Bello getting the ball for the home team. This is a rematch of a matchup we saw just five days ago in which France gave up a whopping 10 runs on 11 hits. There are no notable aces going in today’s slate so you might be able to find value in the pitching spot, but we do have the hottest team in the league going against the worst team in the league at T-Mobile Park.

This is for the 8/29 4:05 PM PST classic slate on Draftkings.

    Writer’s Record

    45-22-1

Milwaukee Brewers ML (+111) @ Chicago Cubs

The Brewers took the first game of this matchup between first and second place in the NL Central. Milwaukee looks like they’re rounding into playoff form with some impressive pitching displays, both from their starting rotation as well as their bullpen. This division was starting to get close, but the Brew Crew has pulled away in recent days. Corbin Burnes starts for the division leaders and despite his inconsistent performances, he has shown at times this year that he is still one of the best pitchers in the league. Milwaukee leads the season series 5-3 and at plus money, they are good value to continue pulling away from the Cubs in the division race.

    DFS Pillar Plays

    George Kirby

    Position: P

    Salary: $9,700

This Mariners pitching staff looks quite formidable at the moment. Among all qualified starters, three Seattle starters rank in the top five WHIP leaders. Castillo and Kirby are one and two. Kirby has only walked 14 batters all season over 156 innings. The matchup against the bottom-feeding A’s set things up nicely for Kirby and the Mariners to continue their momentum and as the fourth highest-priced pitcher on the board, he looks the most likely to outperform his price.

    Matt Olson

    Position: 1B

    Salary: $6,900

With the Braves continuing their series in the Rocky Mountains, we’re most likely going to see some more home runs out of the team that leads the majors in that statistic by 40. Yesterday it was Acuna and Riley who went yard and today it looks like Matt Olson will have a good chance with right-hander Peter Lambert on the mound for the home team.

    Anthony Santander

    Position: OF

    Salary: $4,500

The switch-hitting Santander had a big night on Monday in the first matchup of this series. Santander has been one of the best hitters on this Orioles squad all season and leads the team in home runs and RBIs. He ranks second on the team in hits behind only Adley Rustchman. The White Sox do not offer much resistance in this lopsided matchup between the team with the second best record against the team with the fourth worst.

    DFS Value Plays (<$3500 Salary)

    James Outman

    Position: OF

    Salary: $3,400

James Outman has homered in two straight games and will be a part of the Dodgers’ left-handed platoon tonight against Diamondbacks right-hander Merrill Kelly. Outman has 14 RBIs in August, his best month in that department since April when he had 18.

    Dominic Canzone

    Position: OF

    Salary: $3,100

With the A’s in town and the Mariners as hot as they are, Canzone is one of the few value guys you can slot in on this Seattle squad. Canzone has five hits in his last four games and has been starting to see regular run on this team that is now in sole possession of the AL West. He has an extra base hit in two straight games .

    Michael Toglia

    Position: 1B/OF

    Salary: $3,300

The game between these two teams on Monday had 18 runs scored and there’s no reason to believe the matchup tonight will be low scoring, given the venue. Toglia has shown some pop of late with two home runs in the past week. He is on a three game hit streak with a run scored in all three of those games.
