• Monday’s slate of games had many notable moments, mostly punctuated by 10 outings of at least 30-points from several notable stars. Here are the notable fantasy tid-bits from those six games:

    Adds of the Night

    T.J McConnell, G, Indiana Pacers

McConnell has been well on the radar for over the last month, and if he hasn’t been on yours, let tonight be the last night that’s the case. McConnell is only rostered in 37% of Yahoo leagues despite not only being a top-95 player on the season in 9-cat, but has also been on the cusp of top-80 value ever since Victor Oladipo got traded. Tonight’s line isn’t emblematic of what should be expected of McConnell every night, (particularly in terms of points, he won’t be scoring like this), but if you need assists and/or steals in any capacity, I’d bet good money that you won’t find a better waiver wire add than T.J.

Marcus Morris, F, Los Angeles Clippers

This is mostly a short term recommendation with Kawhi Leonard (leg) and Paul George (foot) both sidelined, the latter indefinitely. Morris Sr. makes for a decent points, triples and rebounds streamer as long as Leonard and George are sidelined. I don’t think he’ll hold onto much value once either returns though.

    Drop Zone

    Patrick Williams, F, Chicago Bulls

I’m not putting Williams here for lack of opportunity or because he played poorly today, because he is still getting a lot of run and he did leave this game briefly after tweaking his knee. I’m putting him here just because he’s too inconsistent to roll with at the moment. He’s been outside the top-200 through February despite playing 32 minutes per game. He’s rebounding and blocking shots, but isn’t doing enough elsewhere to warrant a hold in standard leagues. More of a late-in-the-season type of guy to target.

    OUT – Covid Protocol

San Antonio Spurs – One unspecified positive diagnosis. Tuesday game vs. Pistons has been canceled

    Milwaukee Bucks: Jrue Holiday

    Oklahoma City Thunder: Theo Maledon

    Injury Report

    Monday’s games

Joel Embiid (back) came into Monday’s game listed as questionable, was ruled in, and was then a late scratch after lineups were submitted. It remains to be seen if he’ll miss any more time going forward.

Kawhi Leonard (leg) missed his second straight game on Monday as he continues to deal with this ongoing issue.Meanwhile, Paul George (foot) missed his sixth straight game. Nicholas Batum (migraine) and Patrick Beverley (rest) also sat this game out.

Wendell Carter Jr. (quad) was able to make his return on Monday after missing his last 11 games dealing with the issue.

Richaun Holmes (knee) was ruled out for Monday’s game against the Nets, leaving Hassan Whiteside and Marvin Bagley to pick up the slack.

It’s not an injury, but worth noting in this section that Russell Westbrook was able to play the second half of a back-to-back in Monday’s game against the Rockets. Worth monitoring his availability for the next B2B the Wizards play.

Eric Gordon (groin) and P.J Tucker (quad) were ruled out for Monday’s game against the Wizards.

    Tuesday’s games

Anthony Davis was officially diagnosed with a calf strain on Monday, and will be re-evaluated after the March 7th All-Star break.

D’Angelo Russell (leg) was ruled out a full day in advance of Tuesday’s game against the Lakers. It will be his fourth straight missed game with the injury.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Blazers.

OG Anunoby (calf) is considered doubtful for Tuesday’s game against the Bucks

Paul Millsap (knee) and Will Barton (personal) have been ruled out for Tuesday’s game against the Celtics while Monte Morris (shoulder) is considered questionable

Daniel Theis (finger) is questionable going into Tuesday’s game against the Nuggets

    Notable Numbers

Scoring Galore in the Association: This Monday NBA night was pretty clearly defined by high scoring outputs league wide. Four players went for 40, with the culprits ranging from the expected (Kyrie Irving, 40) to the slightly unexpected (Julius Randle, 44), the VERY unexpected (Ben Simmons, 42) to the wait he did that in HOW much time?? (Jordan Clarkson, 42…in 29 minutes). After those four, there were six other players who went for at least 30, with a handful of others within a made shot of that mark as well.

Nerlens Noel Defensive Stat Watch: Noel is finally getting his chance at unfettered starter’s minutes, so going forward whenever the Knicks play on Monday, a portion of this space will be dedicated to tracking his cumulative defensive stats in this role. May not look like much in the beginning, but wait and be amazed once we reach the end of this stint. Enjoy.
