Chargers 24, Raiders 19 (Chargers covered -3, U52)
The Chargers seemed to be running away with this game as they took a 17-3 lead heading into half time, but in typical Chargers fashion they tried to throw that lead away, making multiple mistakes in the second half. There were a couple monster games for fantasy GMs in this one, while a number of star players disappointed, including Keenan Allen who did not play the second half due to a hamstring injury.
Chargers
QB
The kid is incredible. Justin Herbert put on an absolute clinic in this game and torched the Raiders defense. Herbert put up an impressive line of 26 for 34 for 279 yards and three touchdowns. The majority of that damage was done in the first half too, as the Chargers offense never really garnished any momentum in the second half. Herbert is currently sitting as the QB4 for Week 1.
RB
One disappointment in this matchup was Austin Ekeler. He looked very good running the ball at times and was able to secure all four of his targets for 36 yards, but without finding the endzone, his fantasy GMs will be frustrated. He ran the ball 14 times for 36 yards. He finished with under 10 fantasy points in half PPR leagues and will look to rebound in a thrilling Week 2 matchup with the Chiefs on Thursday night.
