Key storylines/What to Watch
The Jaguars surprisingly open this game as three-point favorites against the 5-1 Giants. New York is coming off comeback victories against the Packers and Ravens, while the Jaguars have come down to earth recently. The main storyline to watch in this game is which quarterback will be able to limit the turnovers more.
Top Starts
Saquon Barkley: The Giants are going to want to control the ball and slow down this game, and that will be achieved by feeding Saquon. Barkley is the RB2 overall this year, and he’s looking like the back he was during his rookie year. A full offseason of recovery and a coaching change have revived Saquon. Very few backs have the RB1 potential every week, but Saquon is one of them.
Christian Kirk: Kirk leads all Jaguars receivers in production this year, and he’s played 90% or more of the team’s offensive snaps every week. Kirk has seen fewer targets in the past two weeks, but throughout the first four weeks, he averaged nine targets per game. Kirk is Trevor Lawrence’s favorite target, and he should continue to rely on him moving forward.
Boom/Bust Dart-Throw
Travis Etienne: Etienne isn’t playing as many snaps as fantasy managers would like, but he’s making the most of the touches he’s getting. During the past two games, he’s had 20 carries and averaged 7.85 yards per carry. He is also involved in the passing game, as he’s the clear receiving back. If Etienne continues this efficiency and finds the end zone fantasy managers will be thrilled to have started him.
