Seahawks @ Chiefs
Seahawks (+10) @ Chiefs (-480): O/U 49.5
Key storylines/What to Watch
The Chiefs opened up as 10-point favorites after two consecutive disappointing weeks, where they played the Broncos closely and then took the Texans to overtime. They are fighting for the top seed in the AFC, while the Seahawks need a win to keep pace in the NFC Wild Card race. This game will come down to whether or not the Seahawks will be able to make a couple of stops on defense since both offenses will likely be able to score with ease.
Top Starts
DK Metcalf: Metcalf hasn’t missed a beat with new quarterback Geno Smith, as he’s right on par with his career averages. He comes into this game in the top-10 in targets, and he’s near 950 yards with six touchdowns. Tyler Locket suffered an injury last week, which will sideline him for week 16, giving Metcalf even more target upside. Metcalf is a low-end WR1 this week in a game with this high of a total.
Travis Kelce: Kelce is the easiest start in all of fantasy football. He’s top-5 in the NFL in both targets and yards, and no other tight end is remotely close. He has over 110 more fantasy points than the second-highest-scoring fantasy tight end, and this profiles to be a game where both teams throw a lot. Kelce is the TE1 this week and every week.
Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes comes into this game as the QB2 for this fantasy season, sitting only three points behind Jalen Hurts. Mahomes leads the NFL in passing yards, passing touchdowns, and passing plays of 20-plus and 40-plus yards. He faces a Seahawks’ defense that’s bottom-12 in fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks, and in a game with a high-point total, he’s the QB1 this week.
Boom/Bust Dart-Throw
Marquise Goodwin: The Seahawks need another weapon with the absence of Tyler Lockett, and Goodwin could step up and provide that. He is averaging 10.2 yards per target, with four touchdown receptions on 27 catches. With increased volume, Goodwin provides high-upside, but his previous lack of involvement is concerning. Geno Smith will likely have to throw the ball many times in this game, making Goodwin a high-upside boom-or-bust play.
