Fantasy Preview: Week 5 in London

  • Giants (+7.5) @ Packers (-360): O/U 41.5

    Giants

    QB

The Giants QB situation is hanging on by a thread, with Daniel Jones returning from an ankle injury. The team will pray that he can make it through the contest with backup QB Tyrod Taylor out with a concussion, meaning that Davis Webb would be the next man up. Jones does have that rushing ability that allows him to have a relatively safe floor, but the passing attack leaves a lot to be desired as he is ranked as the 22nd best passing QB in the league so far through 2022. Out of the rushing QBs, Jones is towards the bottom end as the 9th ranked QB in that category out of 13 qualifiers. The positive aspect for Danny Dimes is that he has seen his rushing yards increase in each of the past two weeks (79 & 68 yards) after just 20 & 21 yards over Weeks 1 & 2. The rushing ability allows for a safe floor in two QB leagues (as long as he stays healthy), but the ankle injury coming into the game and the poor passing attack makes him a desperation QB1 start this week.

    RB

In half-PPR formats, Saquon Barkley is currently the RB2 on the campaign, behind only Nick Chubb. His increased involvement in the passing game has elevated his floor while it seems like he has finally gotten back to his pre-injury self. The Packers are middle of the pack against RBs for fantasy purposes and the Giants will continue to rely on Barkley if they want to stay competitive in this contest vs. a much better opponent. Start him with confidence as a weekly RB1.
