Fantasy Preview: Chiefs vs. Buccaneers (10/2/22)

  • Chiefs (+1)  vs. Buccaneers (-115): O/U:45.5

    QB

Patrick Mahomes:  Mahomes is squaring off with a tough defense in Week 4, but he is talented enough to still get the job done.  In the last two weeks, his average weekly ranking is QB12 and that will likely be his fantasy-scoring floor on the season.  It is clear that he is missing an elite and talented WR on this roster, a spot that Tyreek Hill used to hold, as his pass-catchers are really lacking the big-play upside this year.  With that being said, Mahomes is still a great option in standard fantasy leagues, who has a QB1 overall finish back in Week 1. If defenses are able to lock in on Travis Kelce, however, then he will be forced to target the lesser talented receiving options.

    RB

Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Fantasy GMs are in a very tricky spot with CEH.  He keeps scoring touchdowns, but he is doing so in very limited snaps and touches each week.  If fantasy GMs are able to find a trade partner, he is a great sell-high option. Jerick McKinnon has out-snapped Edwards-Helaire in each of the last two games and once his superb efficiency drops off, it may be too late to trade him.  The matchup with the Bucs, who rank first against the fantasy RB, is a tough spot for CEH, making him a flex option at best.
