Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: Week 6

Week 6 was fairly normal in comparison to the rest of the season, but again it’s backup QBs being the story for better or worse. Anyone who went all-in for Gio Bernard was handsomely rewarded. The most pressing question is how these backup QBs will affect offenses going forward and in case of the Giants with the QB3 under center, it could even work out better for the weapons. We Davante Adams go down for most likely the season and are also getting back some starting QBs (Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson) who can hopefully right the ship.
Quarterbacks
JJ McCarthy McCarthy completed 11-of-21 passes for 243 yards with one touchdown and one interception in less than one quarter and it’s possible he figured some things out after getting benched. The Giants are an ideal fantasy situation with Malik Nabers looking like a superstar again and Isaiah Likely playing like a top-three TE. McCarthy might never look like a fantasy QB, but he’s a sneaky scrambler and could patch some holes in Super Flex leagues. (FAAB: 2%)

Tanner McKee McKee was 26-of-45 for 215 yards with one touchdown and while the PHI offense is a train wreck, DAL is up next and that generally a cure-all for any team. Eventually, PHI will get healthy, but it’s hard to imagine they have any ceiling with or without Jalen Hurts. Either way, McKee is more of a stop gap QB for Super Flex teams in need of a short term boost. (FAAB 1-2%)
