Quarterback
Jayden Daniels – Commanders – Elbow – Daniels will start Week 5 after missing two weeks due to a dislocated non throwing elbow. It’s a welcome return for fantasy managers and is a must start against the Giants.
Marcus Mariota – Commanders – leg – Mariota aggravated an MCL injury he suffered in the preseason. It’s unclear of how much time he will miss but Jayden Daniels will return to action for Week 5 so it will have no impact on the Commanders’ current situation.
Lamar Jackson – Ravens – Back/Ankle – Jackson suffered an ankle injury late in the first half of the Ravens’ Week 4 win over the Titans and did not return. Head coach Jesse Minter said that he is unsure of Jackson’s status for Sunday. These will both be something to monitor throughout the week as the Ravens don’t play until Sunday night in Week 5, giving him a little extra time to recover. If Jackson can’t go, Tyler Huntley would take over as the starter and it would be best to look for other waiver wire options.
Running Back
Saquon Barkley – Eagles – Hamstring/ Tank Bigsby – Core – Barkley suffered a hamstring injury in the Eagles’ Week 4 loss to the Rams. He left the game and did not return and is now considered week to week. Bigsby left the game late in the fourth quarter and it’s now been revealed that he suffered a core muscle injury, will need surgery, and will be placed on short term Injured Reserve. Will Shipley becomes a priority add off the waiver wire as the Eagles can’t solely rely on Jalen Hurts for their running game, but he will hold low end FLEX value due to the uncertainty surrounding him getting a full workload.
Kyle Monangai – Bears – Thumb
Monangai suffered a thumb injury in the Bears’ Week 4 win over the Jets but is listed as day to day. Monangai played significantly more snaps than D’Andre Swift on Sunday due to a Swift fumble at the goal line so if Monangai is able to go on Sunday, it will be extremely interesting to see how the Bears divide up the backfield snap share. If he can’t go, Swift will be the lead back and handle a full workload and will be a must start in all formats.
