We are approaching what could be one of the most exciting NBA seasons of the decade. While time is gradually passing by, now is a good time to review how the current rosters are shaping up to compete. The big names and strong role players rarely change roles, but with rosters always in flux, some players get the opportunity to contribute in different ways, either as new starters or important complementary players. We’ll take a look at a few key scenarios that you should pay attention to over the course of training camp and the preseason and how these roles could translate to sneaky fantasy value.
There’s Just Too Much Talent
Even with the departure of three rotational players in OKC, they still retain most of their starting unit and their key role players. Lu Dort is now in Atlanta, leaving one spot in the starting unit open for grabs. Anyone could basically fill the void with how strong their starters are, but only one will get the satisfaction of seeing an increased role. The two biggest names to watch for are Cason Wallce and Ajay Mitchell. Both players have a strong case for getting the role, but only one will get that promotion.
Who will win these Position Battles and emerge as potential fantasy basketball sleepers? Only one way to find out. You’ll need to have an Ethos 360, All-Sport or NBA FantasyPass membership. Click here to learn more and sign up!(opens in new tab) Premium Access Required
