Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2026: LA Clippers Team Preview

How’d We Get Here?
Out with the old and in with the new. The Clippers went for a major roster overhaul and ended their Kawhi Leonard era with a whimper, jettisoning Leonard and a handful of veterans on the roster — some more helpful than others — to start fresh. The Clippers, Raptors and Leonard are still waiting for potential punishment as a result of the Aspiration fiasco but LA is choosing to wash their hands of this situation and begin anew. The team isn’t going for a full rebuild, adding a couple of players who should help the team stay out of the basement, but will be taking a step back in order to take future steps forward. Leonard will be replaced by Brandon Ingram while Rui Hachimura was signed in free agency to replace John Collins. Bennedict Mathurin left for the Pelicans but the team didn’t seem to heartbroken about losing a high-usage scorer with questionable winning impact. The rest of the Clippers’ moves are fringe, but replacing the likes of Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nic Batum with Gradey Dick and Johni Broome is a good injection of youth and also clears the deck for more Kobe Sanders and Jordan Miller. The Clippers’ trade of Ivica Zubac yielded the No. 5 pick in the draft and the team is hoping that Keaton Wagler can be a long-term answer in the backcourt. It feels like a million years since the Clippers made their big splash to sign Leonard and acquire Paul George, and unfortunately the team had little to show for it. Perhaps the next chapter will have a happier conclusion.
