Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2026: Indiana Pacers Team Preview

By Mike Passador Published August 30, 2026 2 min read

How’d We Get Here?

The Pacers took the gap year idea to the extreme, though they got a nice little push from outside forces given that half of the rotation was out of the lineup just a couple weeks into the campaign. Life was going to be difficult without Tyrese Haliburton but the Pacers sank like a stone amid early injuries and their trajectory was clear. They bottomed out and did a little shopping for the future in acquiring Ivica Zubac from the Clippers while giving supporting cast players like Jay Huff, Jarace Walker, Quenton Jackson and Ben Sheppard more opportunity than they would otherwise receive. Pascal Siakam was given an opportunity to show he could still be the go-to guy and Andrew Nembhard will benefit from the many on-ball reps he received in Haliburton’s absence. The last time we saw this team healthy, it was Game 6 of the NBA Finals, with the only notable change being Zubac in place of Myles Turner. The Pacers have proven time and time again that they should not be slept on. Age and injuries will be a factor but the bones of an excellent team are still here and Indiana added Kelly Oubre in free agency to bolster the wing group without losing much of note. There has been a great infusion of talent in the Eastern Conference, but don’t forget about the Pacers now that the gang is back together.
