The late-season injury board keeps humming, and tonightโs slate brings the kind of moving parts that can flip a fantasy matchup before lineups even lock. Josh Giddey heads into the night listed as questionable with left hamstring tightness, Joel Embiid has already been ruled out due to illness (although, his April Fool’s jest may make you think differently), and Daniel Gafford left last nightโs game with a right shoulder stinger and didnโt return. Add in planned rest for DeโAnthony Melton (left thumb strain) and Kristaps Porziลฤฃis (general illness management), and weโve got another classic late-season board where depth charts matter just as much as talent.
Thereโs also a bigger-picture wrinkle here: Stephen Curry is now targeting a return on Sunday against the Rockets, which matters not just for Golden State but for anyone squeezing short-term value out of the Warriorsโ temporary fill-ins. And with Jaylen Wells officially done for the season after a successful procedure on his right big toe, one more late-season rotation door swings open elsewhere. Thatโs the texture of fantasy basketball in April, every โquestionable,โ every rest tag, every soft return timeline is really just a disguised waiver-wire signal. On this edition of the cheat sheet, weโll break down the fantasy fallout, the best pickups, the top streamers, and the storylines worth watching before tonight tips.
Top Pickups
This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.
Tari Eason (34%)
Tari Eason got the spot start and made the most of it, delivering 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 3 triples in 30:22. Thatโs the full Eason experience when things are clicking, the defensive juice, the across-the-board production, and just enough scoring to make the line really pop.
Heโs been disappointing of late, no question, but we already know what the upside looks like when the minutes and shot are there. If the jumper is falling and thereโs a chance he can stick in the starting lineup, he becomes a very interesting late-season add. Thereโs volatility here, but the category juice is strong enough that if heโs still on your wire, heโs worth a look.
It should also be noted that head coach Ime Udoka said that the start was “matchup based.”
Kelly Oubre (21%)
