• Tuesday’s four-game slate was anything but interesting, really.

The Rockets and Clippers played a game where everyone was kind of in the ballpark of their averages, and the Suns were up by 20 points after one quarter before a late charge by the Mavs made things look respectable in the end. Shoutout to Naji Marshall, who put up 31 points despite being benched for Tyus Jones. We’re excited to see how many games it takes for Marshall to get benched for Khris Middleton.

The Pacers and Knicks played a crazy game that resulted in an OT win for the visitors, with Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard producing big lines and Quenton Jackson stepping up for 19 huge points and some tough shots down the stretch. Jalen Brunson’s 40 points weren’t enough and Karl-Anthony Towns had a mixed bag, going for 22 & 14 and sending the game to OT with clutch free throws but also fouling out and committing four offensive fouls on the night. While the game itself was great entertainment, there was nothing new to unearth for fantasy.

The real crown jewel of the night was Victor Wembanyama, who did a mere mortal’s work in his first shift of the evening. Less than eight minutes into the contest, Wembanyama had already scored 25 points. If the Lakers looked like a competent NBA team — or if Wemby felt like it — he could’ve gone for a historic performance. Wembanyama was so good that he basically blocked out the sun, as only one other starter even topped 20 minutes in a laughably easy victory. LA sat four of their starters plus Austin Reaves on the second night of a back-to-back, eating an 0-2 stretch against the class of the conference in OKC and San Antonio.

    Top Pickups

This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.

    Brook Lopez (16%)

Tuesday’s game wasn’t exactly close, but it wasn’t exactly a blowout either. Lopez ended up playing 29 minutes, with Yanic Konan Niederhauser getting 13 off the bench and Isaiah Jackson out of the rotation entirely until the benches emptied with five minutes. Given the division of work, Lopez’s actual stat line isn’t that important — though seven points, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer is reasonable enough. If Lopez is going to lead the group to this degree then he’s a no-brainer add in 12-team leagues.
