Week 17 Fantasy Football QB Rankings 2025

  • Well, it’s championship week. Good thing, too, because we’ve started to run out of quarterbacks. If you look at who is No. 12 on my rankings this week, you might think I’m crazy, but we’re preciously short on established gunslingers after recent injuries.

The bottom five on the list this week is simply the very worst it’s been all season. Week 17 is a challenge, but never as much as this year.

How does the rest of the landscape look as we take on the fantasy championship? Check out the Week 17 rankings below.

    Player Team Opponent Notes
Josh Allen BUF PHI Allen will finish as the QB1 for the fourth time. He’s been the QB1 or the QB2 every year since 2020. We haven’t seen a fantasy QB this good in the 21st century.
Drake Maye NE NYJ Maye will be able to score as many fantasy points as the Patriots would like him to against the Jets. He’s been the breakout fantasy QB of 2025 and has locked up a comfortable top-five finish.
Dak Prescott DAL WAS This is cake matchup for Prescott at exactly the right time. He also appears to have locked up a top-five finish in an excellent bounceback year.
Joe Burrow CIN ARI 2025 has been trying for Burrow, but this game is defense optional, with a massive 52.5-point total.
Trevor Lawrence JAC IND Lawrence is now the QB4 on the year after a remarkable playoff-week surge. Indy didn’t look capable of stopping a paper cut against the Niners.
Matthew Stafford LAR ATL Stafford’s huge game with Puka Nacua surged him up to the QB2 spot on the year. He’s been as consistent as any at the position.
Jalen Hurts PHI BUF Big game, but a tough matchup for Hurts. He’s a cut below the above group, but he’s a reliable scorer at the position.
Brock Purdy SF CHI Purdy was dominant Monday, and this game carries another huge total, although the Bears have toughened on defense lately.
Jacoby Brissett ARI CIN Brissett finally stumbled in Week 16, but this kind of massive total game should cure any ills. This has been the championship week game to target since the offseason.
Baker Mayfield TB MIA Baker has struggled a bit lately, but this is all of a must-win game, a great matchup and a game where he has his easy button goal line target Mike Evans locked and loaded.
Bo Nix DEN KC The Chiefs are not trying anymore, as evidenced by them shutting down multiple stars for the season Wednesday. Nix, like Maye, will be able to score as many points as he likes.
Tyler Shough NO TEN We have arrived at QB1 Shough, which is a testament to how good he’s been the last month and how many top QBs we’ve lost to various injuries.
Jaxson Dart NYG LVR Dart really struggled last week, but the Raiders are also tanking, so he should not face much resistence.
Jared Goff DET MIN It’s all must-win for the Lions from here on out, and while the playoffs remain very unlikely, they’ll surely be letting everything rip.
Caleb Williams CHI SF This is a high total, but the issue with WIlliams remains the core of Chicago’s offense being the run game. Caleb should still have some success and is a great streaming option.
Sam Darnold SEA CAR Both teams need to win this game, and Carolina’s defense is hard to read. Darnold lacks the upside of all the others above him this week.
Justin Herbert LAC HOU It’s a shame these two teams are so good at defense, because they also have QBs with big arms and upside. This game’s total is under 40, so both these guys are capped.
C.J. Stroud HOU LAC Stroud gets a slight downgrade vs. Herbert because his production pales in comparison this year. Both of these guys are avoidable.
Lamar Jackson BAL GB Who knows if Jackson will even play, and even if he does, can you trust him after he randomly tapped out in the second quarter last week?
Geno Smith LVR NYG Defense optional spot makes Smith intriguing, especially after he actually had a decent enough game against the No. 1 defense last week.
Kirk Cousins ATL LAR Cousins has started to come on lately, but the Rams aren’t easy sledding, and they have everything to play for.
Bryce Young CAR SEA Young is starting to develop a tolerable floor, but the Seahawks aren’t the matchup to test any new found confidence on.
Aaron Rodgers PIT CLE The Browns have lost their luster defensively, but Rodgers does not have the juice to justify a championship week stream.
Malik Willis GB BAL The problem with Willis this week is both the matchup and his health after a late tough hit in last week’s loss. He’s absolutely one to watch next year, however.
Cam Ward TEN NO Ward had his second-best game of his career against the hollowed out Chiefs. I’m growing optimistic about his 2026, but there’s still too much bad with his rookie season to trust him this week.
Phillip Rivers IND JAC Old Man Rivers continues to play competently! Fantasy is probably a bridge too far, especially with the Jaguars’ pressure first approach.
Shedeur Sanders CLE PIT Sanders has been unplayable outside of one boom game, so he’s not close to the radar yet.
Brady Cook NYJ NE Cook still doesn’t strike me as NFL caliber, so there’s no way I’d play him.
Quinn Ewers MIA TB Neither does Ewers, who will need some significant runway to earn trust that he’s unlikely to ever get.
Josh Johnson WAS DAL If it was anything but the most generic possible backup, I’d be interested in targeted Dallas in Week 17. Johnson is almost a parody QB at this point, so no shot I’m stooping this low.
Max Brosmer MIN DET Brosmer looked much better in relief J.J. McCarthy than he looked in his disastrous first start. However, the floor of a scoreless performance is too frightening to pursue this good matchup in any format.
Chris Oladokun KC DEN I had read this guy’s name maybe once before he came in for Gardner Minshew last week. This is going to be the mother of all tank performances from KC.
* Jordan Love GB BAL If Love plays, he’s roughly a mid-teens QB this week. So many good QBs have good matchups this week.
* Tyler Huntley BAL GB Huntley has proven capable before, but ultimately, he’d be in the Willis-Ward range in this tough matchup.
* Marcus Mariota WAS DAL I would love to stream a healthy Marcus Mariota this week, but doubt that’s ultimately realistic. He’d be in the mix with Herbert and Stroud.
