Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide 2025: Atlanta Hawks Team Preview

By Mike Passador Published August 26, 2025 Updated August 25, 2026 2 min read

How’d We Get Here?

The Hawks moved on from Dejounte Murray last summer but it didn’t do much for them standings-wise. The addition of a young potential star in Dyson Daniels was a big win in the big picture, but Atlanta dealt with another year of Play-In disappointment that prompted some big offseason changes. Players like Daniels and Onyeka Okongwu excelling in larger roles empowered the Hawks to be aggressive this summer. They turned over half the roster and weren’t shy about shopping towards the top of the market, capitalizing on Boston’s sell-off to add Kristaps Porzingis while acquiring one of the top guards available in Nickeil Alexander-Walker. With young core pieces that fit together finally in place, the Hawks are hoping that adding one star-level player and improving the team’s depth can get them back in the playoffs proper and beyond.
