• We’re back in OKC for game five! It’s Wednesday and OKC is one win away from the NBA Finals! The Thunder are favoured by 8.5 points, the O/U is set at 220.5 and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off his best playoff game this season, where he put up 68.25 fpts. Isaiah Hartenstein played less than 20 minutes for the 2nd straight game despite Rudy Gobert continuing to play 30+. On the Wolves side, their bench was awesome last game – they accounted for 12 out of their 18 made threes, but it will be a tough task to repeat it far from home. We have a lot more to get to, so let’s get started!

With Isaiah Hartenstein playing less than 16 minutes in game four, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander grabbed a team-high nine boards, highlighting his stat-sheet stuffing potential with Chet Holmgren or even Keinrich Williams or Jalen Williams playing at the five. But this is just a drop in the ocean in terms of the value Shai provides. After scoring a playoff-low four points in the paint in game three, SGA went back to his usual 10+ points in the paint per game, and with OKC playing more five-out sets, it could increase exponentially Shai’s paint attempts. Moreover, he also got to the line at will, drawing 14 fta. It’s no surprise to see these numbers when taking into consideration that Shai had 21 drives in game four. He’s averaging 22.5 in the series, three more than what he averaged against the Nuggets. With this, Shai’s fta and points in the paint sky rocketed against the Wolves, who have not been as good as the Nuggets in denying Shai getting to his spots. Regarding potential assists, Shai is only trailing Tyrese Haliburton in the Conference Finals, and rivals Haliburton is points created off assists, with 22.5 to 24.7. The third spot belongs to Anthony Edwards, who stands at 14.5. All in all, the Wolves have not stopped Shai from driving and getting to the hoop, except in game three, allowing him to continue to be his usual high-efficient self. And with added responsibility on the boards and incredible statistical trends in the assists departement, SGA is a great fantasy option as OKC tries to closeout the series.
