• I am fired up about the WNBA fantasy season for several reasons: the talent of these tremendous players, offseason player movement, and the stat explosion that we are all living in real time.

A’Ja Wilson just authored up the greatest scoring season in WNBA history by averaging 26.9 points per game, which shattered the previous record held by Diana Taurasi with 25.3 ppg in 2006.

As a rookie, Caitlin Clark set the WNBA record for total assists in a season and finished fifth all-time in assists per game at 8.4.

Also in her rookie season, Angel Reese broke the WNBA record for rebounds per game in a season with 13.1, moving aside the great Sylvia Fowles and her 11.9 rpg in 2018.

I expect this statistical explosion to continue this season because where there is talent, the goodies will follow.

My Top 50 rankings for the upcoming WNBA season are based on the default ESPN format: six-team, head-to-head, points, standard lineup: G-G-F-F-F-U-B-B-B, and a nine-round draft.

Rank ADP +/- NAME TEAM POS NOTES
1.9 0.9 Caitlin Clark Fever G The sky's the limit for Clark, who might claim her first MVP award this season. After posting a PRA of 19-6-8 as a rookie, I am projecting her for a PRA of 21-6-9 this season–and I am being conservative.
1.6 -0.4 A’ja Wilson Aces F This is a coin flip with Clark, but I am betting against the legendary A’ja to duplicate last year’s insane scoring numbers. Nothing against Wilson, I fade EVERYBODY coming off a one-of-a-kind, act-of-God season like that. Everybody. Love you, A’ja!
4.3 1.3 Napheesa Collier Lynx F Phee will give Clark and Wilson a run for regular season MVP and hit 20-10 for the first time in her career.
5.7 1.7 Arike Ogunbowale Wings G Arike is the SGA of the WNBA…elite scorer, super consistent, fills up the entire box score and plays every game.
4 -1 Breanna Stewart Liberty F Stewie would be #3 under normal circumstances, but I am mildly concerned about the meniscus surgery and I will fade her to #5 as a result.
6 0 Sabrina Ionescu Liberty G Safe, solid and entertaining pick. Sabrina comes off a PRA of 18-4-6 in 2024 and there is no reason to expect a deviation this season.
13.1 6.1 Kelsey Plum Sparks G Kelsey is my favorite fantasy player this season and it’s not close. She goes from the #2 in Vegas to the #1 in Los Angeles and we should get a spite season after the spicy trade.
12.8 4.8 Paige Bueckers Wings G In four years at UConn, the #1 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft averaged a five-cat stat line of 20-5-5-1-2 with 2 threes per game. Welcome to WNBA Fantasy, Paige!
9.7 0.7 Angel Reese Sky F She beat Candace Parker’s double-double streak last season and this year she will probably break her own record.
8.5 -1.5 Alyssa Thomas Mercury F Alyssa has 15 triple-doubles, including the regular season and postseason, the most in WNBA history.
16.9 5.9 Kahleah Copper Mercury G Copper comes off a career-high scoring average of 21.1 and I expect her to approach 24 ppg this year due to the departures of Diana Taurasi and Britney Griner.
13.9 1.9 Nneka Ogwumike Storm F Are you a fan of consistency like me? Last season, Nneka averaged 16.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. She has averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds over her 13-year career. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
11.1 -1.9 Aliyah Boston Fever F After posting PRAs of 14-8-2 and 14-9-3 in her first two seasons, I look for Boston to post a PRA of 15-9-3 in year three.
14.6 0.6 Jewell Loyd Aces G After 10 Hall of Fame seasons in Seattle, Loyd takes her talents to Vegas, where she will look for the second 20+ ppg season of her career.
17.5 2.5 Skyler Diggins-Smith Storm G After missing the 2023 season on maternity leave, SDS returned with 15.1 points and 6.4 assists last season.
20.6 4.6 Satou Sabally Mercury F After finishing fifth in MVP voting in 2023, Sabally’s numbers dipped a little bit last season on a terrible Dallas team. With new life in Phoenix, the goodies shall return.
10.4 -6.6 Dearica Hamby Sparks F Hamby posted a career high 17 and 9 last season, but that was a major aberration compared to the rest of her career.
11.6 -6.4 Jonquel Jones Liberty F Which Jonquel do the Liberty get this season? In 2023, she averaged 11 points and eight rebounds in her first season in New York. Last year she averaged 14 and 9. Do you feel lucky?
21.4 2.4 Rhyne Howard Dream G One of the most consistent players in the league, with a PRA of 17-5-3 with 1.5 steals and 2.5 threes per game over her first three seasons.
18.5 -1.5 Jackie Young Aces G With Kelsey Plum in LA, I expect a slight uptick in numbers from Jackie, who posted a PRA of 16-4-5 with a steal and two threes per game last year.
20 -1 DeWanna Bonner Fever F One of the GOATs of longevity in WNBA history is now playing with the best passer in the game (Clark), so another Bonner season is in store. Check this out. Last year was her age 36 season and she averaged a PRA of 15-6-2 with 0.7 blocks and 1.2 steals. Over DeWanna’s 15-year career, her averages are 15-6-2 with 0.7 blocks and 1.2 steals. Crazy, right?
35.6 13.6 Tina Charles Sun C The future Hall of Famer will not add that elusive ring on a rebuilding Sun squad, but she will at least duplicate last year’s PRA of 15-9-2.
23.8 0.8 Allisha Gray Dream G She has been an All-Star in both seasons in Atlanta thanks to scoring averages of 17.1 and 15.6.
28.4 4.4 Britney Griner Dream C In her age 33 season, Griner put up 18 points, 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in Phoenix. I believe she will vibe on the change of scenery in Atlanta and at least match those numbers, with the possibility of reaching 20 points, eight boards and two blocks.
25.1 0.1 Ezi Magbegor Storm C Over the last two seasons, Ezi has turned into one of the best bigs in the W, averaging a line of 13-8-2-2-1. There is possible downside here with the drafting of phenom center Dominique Malonga, so tread with caution.
28.9 2.9 Marina Mabrey Sun G With the Sun in rebuilding mode, I could see Mabrey upping her scoring average from 15 to 17 ppg this season.
24.4 -2.6 Kelsey Mitchell Fever G I fear some regression for Mitchell with the infusion of talent in Indiana, where the Fever now have a rock star starting five. She has been right at 18 ppg for five years in a row, but that might dip into the 15-16 range this season.
28.2 0.2 Natasha Howard Fever F Howard brings grit to the Fever as well as a stat line of 17-7-3-1-1 last year in Dallas. Those numbers are coming down a bit due to Indy’s depth, but she will still rock the box.
32 3 Courtney Williams Lynx G Super solid point guard for the Lynx, who will at least give you last year’s PRA of 11-5-5.
33.4 3.4 Kayla McBride Lynx G Love her game because she’s super competitive and clutch, and tough as nails. Kayla posted a PRA of 15-3-3 with 2.7 threeballs last season.
26.7 -4.3 Brionna Jones Dream C The move to Atlanta is going to slightly reduce Jones’ stats from last year because she has to share with Griner, Howard, Gray and Canada.
33.1 1.1 Rickea Jackson Sparks F Plum’s playmaking and gravity-creating game will open up lots of good looks for Jackson, who will build on her rookie PRA of 13-4-1 in year two.
37.5 4.5 Kamilla Cardoso Sky C After posting a PRA of 10-8-2 with 1.4 blocks as a rookie, Cardoso will flirt with a double-double and get the blocks close to 2 per game.
33.3 -0.7 Natasha Cloud Liberty G Will Cloud be able to maintain her PRA of 11-4-7 in New York with all of those superstars? Probably not, but 10-4-6 is still solid at this point of the draft.
38.2 3.2 Teaira McCowan Wings C Solid under-the-radar center, who posted a five-cat stat line of 12-8-1-1-1 last season.
31.4 -4.6 Alanna Smith Lynx F One of the only players in the WNBA to average 1-1-1 in the blocks, steals and threes.
40.2 3.2 Ariel Atkins Sky G Moving to a team who is starving for scoring, Atkins should take her scoring average from 15 ppg to the 17-19 range.
38.5 0.5 Jordin Canada Dream G Another solid point guard with a lot of mouths to feed, so look for another PRA like last year’s 10-3-6. I'll be monitoring her injury status and will update this ranking if necessary.
51 12 Gabby Williams Storm F My favorite sleeper in the draft and my pick to win the WNBA’s Most Improved Player award. Gabby had a PRA of 10-4-4 as a rookie, but all of her numbers are going way up this season.
41.1 1.1 Chelsea Gray Aces G I am betting on a bounceback season from Gray, who was one of the best point guards in the league before last year’s injury-hit season.
53.5 12.5 Shakira Austin Mystics C She won’t make any highlight reels or headlines, but she will rock steady with a stat line of 12-7-1-1-1.
44 2 Sonia Citron Mystics G The new starting point guard for the Mystics has a legitimate chance to win rookie of the year due to role, talent and playing time.
54.6 11.6 Natasha Mack Mercury F Mack takes over the center position from Griner and she is ready to flirt with a double-double with at least 1.5 blocks per game.
38.8 -5.2 Cameron Brink Sparks F Most of you are drafting Cam higher than this, but I am walking into this, not running into this, because of the torn ACL recovery.
39.8 -5.2 Brittney Sykes Mystics G How could she not improve on last year’s 12 ppg on that team??
41.8 -4.2 NaLyssa Smith Wings F Smith comes over from Indiana, where she had a five-cat stat line of 10-7-1-1-1 last season. All of those numbers are rising in Dallas, where she will play a much bigger role.
53.6 6.6 Tiffany Hayes Valkyries G After being a prized reserve for the Aces last season, she comes to the expansion Valkyries with a scoring mindset and the possibility to drop 15 a night.
40.9 -7.1 Dijonai Carrington Wings G She is starting with Arike and Paige, so I expect her to build on last year’s PRA of 13-5-1 with 1.6 steals.
51.7 2.7 Julie Vanloo Valkyries G Vanloo is a skilled point guard who comes over from Washington to post a solid stat line in the WNBA’s land of opportunity for fantasy goodies.
54 4 Chennedy Carter Free Agent G It is mystifying to me that Carter is still a free agent after posting 17 ppg last season, but she will eventually sign with someone and give them buckets!!
