The First Round means non-stop Playoff basketball. And we’re here today for another two game slate! We start off with the Knicks @ Pistons (-1.5) matchup, with a 213.5 O/U, Jalen Brunson’s game 5 ankle injury concern and the Pistons back at home, where they are yet to win a game this series. The 2nd game is the much antecipated Nuggets @ Clippers (-6.5) matchup, after a game 5 in which Denver won and Nikola Jokic scored just 13 points, still two more than Harden’s 11 points on nine shots to go along five assists and four turnovers. What version of Playoff James Harden will we be getting today? Since 2020, Harden has played considerably better in away games, posting 24 ppg on a 47/38/84 shooting split on the road vs. 20 ppg on 40/35/90 at home, not a great indicator for the Clippers today. We’ve got much more to get to, so let’s get started!

DFS Pillar Plays
Karl-Anthony Towns
Position: C
Salary: $8,500
Karl-Anthony Towns is shooting nine for 15 from three-point range in Detroit and three for nine in New York this series. With the series heading back to Detroit for game 6, it’s worth to note that this doesn’t appear to be a coincidence when looking at KAT’s whole season, as he posted 52/41/81 shooting splits at home during the regular season and 54/42/85 on the road, ending with a 1.7% increase in shooting percentage for his away games. Despite there being no mention of Jalen Brunson in the injury report, the star guard could possibly not be 100% after exiting the game and then returning with an ankle injury, making a Towns extra offensive workload game possible. If that’s the case, with the added season-long 1.7% increase in ts%, Towns value could soar in a must win closeout matchup for the Knicks. On top of that, if Detroit continues to deploy Tobias Harris as a primary defender on Towns, the Knicks could give Brunson some much needed offensive creation rest by posting up Towns.
