Luka Doncic has played just 47 minutes as a Laker, gathering 56.25 fpts, and J.J. Reddick said Luka will still have a minutes restriction on today’s game but didn’t specify where it stands. Nevertheless, Luka is coming of an extended period of rest that should be seen as crucial given his prior injury and durability related concerns. But all of this is small-talk when compared to the narrative behind it – betting against Luka, as Nico Harrison did, just doesn’t seem to be the smart move right now, specially when he figures to be well-rest and playing against a Hornets defense that doesn’t inspire too much confidence, as they rank 6th in points allowed to opposing PGs and rank top-15 in assists, boards and fg% over the past seven games. The risk is very high due to his minutes restriction, but on a one game slate Luka’s ceiling outweigh the immense risk. If you want to mitigate the risk, you can also play him in an UTIL slot and play the next suggestion as captain – which is my prefered strategy!
