As the 2024 Paris Olympics approach, with the opening on July 26th, 2024, and men’s soccer starting on July 24th, here are my top future picks for the Men’s Olympic Soccer tournament. I have also included Women’s Olympic Soccer future picks in this article, as their tournament begins on July 25th, 2024. Men’s Olympic Basketball future picks have just been added, with their tournament starting on July 27th, 2024.

With only 16 teams in the men’s tournament and the stricter player restrictions and regulations that the Olympics follow, which differ from FIFA’s, it’s important to note that the Olympic men’s soccer competition is considered a U-23 tournament. This means players must be born on or after January 1, 2001, though each team is allowed three exceptions to that rule. There are no age restrictions in the women’s tournament. Despite the age limit for the men’s tournament, all other rules of the sport remain the same for both men’s and women’s soccer. With that in mind, it is valuable to consider these factors when evaluating the quality of the teams, as well as understanding why many of these men’s squads will differ from those typically presented by countries in World Cup, Euros, Copa America, and other major international FIFA tournaments.
