Haliburton’s re-evaluation – It was announced this morning that he is going to have his hamstring re-evaluated and will miss the next three games. The knee-jerk reaction is to go add T.J. McConnell but not so fast, y’all. Haliburton has been missing games since the 10th. In the first games he missed, McConnell got extended run and had solid 12-team value. However, since that little run, McConnell’s minutes have fluctuated  The last game with Haliburton out, McConnell only got 12 minutes in a start. Someone who has seen a bump in minutes? First-round pick Ben Sheppard. In the most recent games Haliburton has missed, Sheppard has outplayed McConnell. In fact, he got more run last game than both Bennedict Mathurin and McConnell. Sheppard can be a luxury speculative add right now in standard leagues for rosters that have the open roster spot.

N1kola Jok1c? – Is he no longer the top-fantasy dog? This season he is not living up to his No. 1 ADP, giving managers a “disappointing” No. 3 ranking (this is a per-game ranking and there is a bit of sarcasm in that sentence). But he has been the top-fantasy-dude for three years running. What areas does Joker need to improve in order to get back? Well he is down a tick in multiple categories (rebounds, assists and steals). He would need to get a little more of each of those and maintain his improvements in turnovers and points scored in order truly get back in the mix with Embiid and SGA. He also has Anthony Davis on his heels.
