Welcome to today’s DFS Delivery article.
5 games on the slate tonight but as always we have a lot of players that are questionable and most probably we will get more players ruled out as the day goes on.
But this is NBA DFS and we know that’s coming, especially at this time of the season, so we embrace the variance and do the best job we can.
With that said, let’s go check out some of my best picks, at the time of the writing.
Player Tiers
Expensive Tier
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,700) – Giannis against a Wizards team is always an intriguing play, especially this season where he has averaged 70+ fantasy points in the previous 2 games. The Wizards are also already allowing the eighth-highest offensive efficiency to power forwards and rank in the bottom 5 in fantasy points allowed. The matchup is as good as it can get, and Giannis is…Giannis. Put him in your lineups and just don’t look back.
Darius Garland ($9,700) – Garland, in this past month, has 50 fantasy points five times, 60 three times, and 70 once. In addition, he’s never dropped below 40 in that run. A high floor and a big upside are the perfect foundation for a winning lineup. He is facing the Raptors, who have actually been a bit more vulnerable than usual to point guards lately while surrendering 49.0 fantasy points per game to the position in the last seven games.
Mid-Tier
Cameron Payne ($6,900) – Payne picked up where he’d left off against the Wolves last night, scoring over 33 fantasy points. He is averaging 14.2 points, 9.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals during the last 10 games, and he’s at 1.09 fantasy points per minute with Chris Paul off the court this season. The matchup against the Nuggets is a friendly one for opposing guards, so he should have a clear path to 33+ fantasy points again tonight.
Dillon Brooks ($5,700) – Brooks was back to a normal workload Wednesday against the Nets with Morant sidelined and had 33 fantasy points across 34 minutes with Morant sitting out. The Pacers are allowing the eighth-highest offensive efficiency to backcourt players (48.8 percent), and the 11th highest to shooting guards specifically (21.6 percent), and the Pacers rank in the bottom 10 in three-point shooting allowed on the road (36.2 percent). He has a 30% usage rate in the games without Morant this season and he has never seen a shot that he did not like. This might not be the best for normal basketball but for DFS, I will take it any day.
Value
Goga Bitadze ($4,900) – Goga should see 27+ minutes and should pay off those salaries pretty easily, with a huge ceiling if Isaiah Jackson and Jalen Smith both end up out for Indiana. In the games that he has played more than 20 minutes in 2022, he is averaging 30.4 fantasy points, that’s 1.17 fantasy points per minute. To be honest I like him even if the other 2 are in but if they are not, he will be a near-lock for me.
Tyus Jones ($4,300) – If Morant is out again, Jones becomes a must-play again. He’s started both of the last two games with Morant out, scoring 30.3 and 34.0 fantasy points, respectively. His usage sees a slight bump with Morant out, but the main thing is that he gets close to 25 minutes and that’s what makes him so valuable since he is a point-per-minute player for the season.
Honorable Mentions: Nikola Jokic ($11,400), Kristaps Porzingis ($8,400), Nicola Vucevic ($7,900), Steven Adams ($5,800), Aaron Gordon ($5,000), Tomas Satoransky ($3,200)
