Fun Facts for the season

-In franchise history, the Lakers have only missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons twice: 1975-76 and 2013-2019. The Lakers have actually missed the playoffs more times since 2013 (six times) than they have in their entire history (five times). Fortunately, the team was back on track this season as the Lakers appeared to be one of the front-runners to win a championship at the time the league was suspended.

-Unlike most teams, the Lakers have built their roster through trades and free agency as they only have two players on the team who were drafted by the franchise: Kyle Kuzma and Talen Horton-Tucker. Kuzma was the only drafted Laker who was part of the team’s rotation while Horton-Tucker spent most of the season playing for the team’s G League affiliate.

-Although the Lakers are on top of the Western Conference, the team’s fantasy value was concentrated at the top with no other player finishing inside the top-130 in 8/9-cat leagues except for LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who were both first-round values.

-Anthony Davis has proven to be one of the best fantasy players in the league and the new uniform didn’t change that. Davis has not finished outside of the first round in per-game value since his rookie season and has finished no lower than the second-best fantasy player (per-game value) in 8/9-cat leagues over the past three seasons.

-LeBron James has been in the NBA for 17 seasons and has led the league in points (30.0 points in 2007-08) and minutes (42.4 mpg in 2004-05, 37.8 mpg in 2016-17, 36.9 mpg in 2017-18) thus far in his historic career. He has never led the league in assists — that is, until this season when he averaged 10.6 assists per game. That is a full 1.3 assists higher than Trae Young, who is currently second.

-LeBron was able to come back very strong a season removed from the only injury-riddled year of his career. If you remove 2018-19 when LeBron missed 27 games due to a groin injury, the 16-time All-Star has played in an absurd 95.1 percent of his team’s games (regular and post-season) throughout his historic career and has never missed a playoff game to date.
