• Injuries, trades, tanking, silly season—you know the drill by now, so I’ll spare you the poetry. The All-Star break is right around the corner, and after Thursday, February 13, 2025, we’ll get a short break before returning next week. With 15 games on the slate tonight, let’s dive right in!

    Standard Leagues

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Donovan Clingan, C, POR (27% rostered)

Tonight: 31 minutes, 17 points (7-of-12 FG, 3-of-5 FT), 20 boards, two assists, three blocks.

Analysis: Clingan delivered a standout performance tonight in his first start since Portland lost Deandre Ayton (strained calf) on Monday, an injury expected to sideline him for four weeks. The rookie dominated the glass with a career-high 20 rebounds, securing his third double-double while logging 31 minutes. Despite the Blazers keeping their three-headed center rotation intact at the trade deadline, Clingan is set for plenty of playing time post-All-Star break. He’s a prime “silly season” breakout candidate and should be scooped up now, even with Portland off until after the break.

Quentin Grimes, SG, SF, PHI (15% rostered)

Tonight: 36 minutes, 30 points (10-of-18 FG, 6-of-9 FT), nine boards, four assists, two steals, one block, four triples.

Analysis: Grimes stepped into the starting lineup with Tyrese Maxey sidelined tonight and made the most of it, tying for a game-high 30 points. Even with Maxey healthy, he’s logged at least 28 minutes in four straight games since joining Philadelphia, but his usage has rightly spiked in Maxey’s absence. He’ll return to a bench role once Maxey is back, but he holds very strong streaming value in deeper leagues whenever he gets the starting nod.
