As this article is being published, Tropical Storm Debby should become a hurricane, make landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida and then move very slowly through the Southeast Coastal Plains during the week.
If the forecast holds, Debby will bring tremendous rains to the Southeast coast – possibly 10-20 inches in some areas! The Braves host the Brewers in Atlanta early this week but Debby’s rains should not impact that series. The two series most at-risk from this storm are the weekend games in Washington (Nats host the Angels) and maybe New York City (Yankees host the Rangers). This forecast could easily change so check back here for the late week update.
Temperatures across the country will not be as warm as in recent weeks so the hitting environments won’t be quite as good. In fact, the only games that will be played in 90+ degree weather are Monday’s games in Kansas City, St. Louis and Washington. The dog days of summer are nowhere to be found, at least for most of us.
If you want to know which teams are my Weather Winners or Weather Losers of the week, skip to the bottom of this article. Otherwise, here are the series or individual games to target/avoid based on this week’s weather.
