Los Angeles Chargers vs. Carolina Panthers U39.5 total points (-110) 1.1u to win 1u (FD)

This has only slipped to -112 and I’d still play it. The Panthers were god-awful in Week 1 as was second-year quarterback Bryce Young. There’s no run game to speak of and the wide receiver room is putrid as well. They’re going to run into a Chargers defense that just gave a better offense fits, forcing multiple turnovers from Gardner Minshew and the Raiders. The Panthers are even softer. This is really about how Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman are going to play smashmouth football all season. There were doubters when many were screaming they would be running the ball up the middle over and over again, and we saw it in Week 1 at least 20 times. They’re playing the possession game, utilizing the rush to set up the long ball. That’s going to milk the clock and keep scores low and manageable. When that’s their whole game plan, they aren’t exactly going to put up a ton of points. I think this one ends similarly to their Week 1 22-10 win over the Raiders, putting us comfortably under the total here.
