NOTE: The cutoff point will be 50% rostered in NFBC leagues (12-teams). The players will be listed in order of rostership.
NOTE no. 2 – There will be more names added later Saturday evening/Sunday morning. This is just the first draft.
Edward Cabrera – P – MIA – 34%
We could be entering Edward Cabrera SZN. It has just been two straight stellar starts (now three) but man, it looks like something has finally clicked with him. He has returned a 20.7% and 16.7% SwStr% over the last two outings while throwing the sinker for 70%+ strikes and at least one secondary joining it at that mark. Looking at the xStats over his last three outings, it has been an xBA under .210 , and xwOBA below .292 in each of them. Next week, he gets the Rays outside of Miami and the Rays have just been a middling offense at home this over the last month. If he turns in a gem on Saturday, this might be an expensive pick-up but should be worth it.
UPDATE – He went 5.2 innings with no runs allowed and five Ks. The three walks kinda sucked but overall, this was another positive outing for Cabrera. Notably, he showed he can play with his pitch mix as he threw a ton more changers that got him eight of his 11 whiffs and he returned an 81% zone% on the four-seamer. He had a 31% CSW%. Yeah, you want him on your roster at this point.
Recommendation – 12-team leagues – 10-12% of FAAB
