St. Thomas +6.5 @ UMKC, 8:00pm EST

This is a play on St. Thomas shooting a lot of 3’s against an opponent that is decent at defending from beyond the arc.  The angle isn’t that St. Thomas is good at 3PFG, as the hit 36.5% which is 48th best in the country, its that they 52.2% of their shots are on 3’s, which is #2 in the nation, and 47% of their points are from 3’s, which is #1 in the nation.  Most of their games this season have come against teams that are very weak at defending the 3-ball.  IN game against teams that rank inside the top 175, so roughly the top half of the nation, they are 5-1 to the Under, while being 7-2-1 to the Over against the teams that rank below #150.  What this means is that against teams that defend the arc, they struggle to put up points, which is why I’m on the Under in this game. In addition these teams both rank in the bottom 25 in offensive rebounding, so less second chance points, while they both are inside the top 90 in defensive rebounds.
