New Orleans Pelicans +7: The Pels aren’t a great team, but they have, to their credit, been a bit better of late. Still, I’d be remiss if I didn’t just admit that this play is largely based on the notion that the Mavs just smacked ’em around by 30+ two nights back after already winning the first match-up by 16 in November. It’s quite hard to beat the same team 3 times in a row, but when it does happen, it’s usually in a tighter battle. This is a motivational-angle play, but also a play on mean-reversion as Dallas shot 69%(!!!) in the game 2 days ago. That ain’t happening again. Even open shots don’t go down that often. Pels to keep it close.
